Corner Shot

So lets just say for a minute you are part of an elite task force that has been sent to rescue a VIP from the grips of a terrorist fanatic in an urban environment. Your main objectives are to rescue any hostages, kill the enemy, and to make it out alive.
Introducing the Corner Shot! a sophisticated weapon system that was founded by two former senior officers from elite units of the Israel Defence Forces together with US investors. Corner Shot can change a hostile situation to favor it's operator by acting as an effective tool that can accurately pinpoint and engage a target, at minimal risk to their personal safety.
The Corner Shot is a device which has a firearm mounted at the front end of the weapon that bends horizontally on a sixty-degree hinge. There is a digital camera and a flashlight attached to the barrel in the bayonet position. On the butt side of the hinge are the trigger, camera screen (which is also mounted on a horizontal hinge), and controls for the camera and light.
CornerShot comes in a few different models depending on your needs.
The first is the CORNER SHOT CSM, which can be attached to most top-tier semi-auto and select-fire pistols, like the Glock 17/18/19, SIG Sauer P226/228, Browning Hi-Power, and Beretta M9/92F/M93.
Next they offer the CORNER SHOT 40, a breech-loading, single shot grenade launcher. Manually operated, it fires all 40 mm grenades, less-lethal and non-lethal ammunition, and tear/irritant gas projectiles.
Finally, the CORNER SHOT APR. It can fire all 5.56 mm ammunition types, including special, non-lethal ammunition, using standard M16 / M4 magazines or specialized, shortened magazines. This allows the operator to targets hit targets at ranges of up to 250 meters, providing more distance than the CSM and more firepower.
Corner Shot is currently being employed by military Special Operations Forces units, anti-terrorism> & counterterrorism units, PMC operators, and law enforcement SWAT/SRT teams around the world including in the USA.

Elections
Today marks the primary elections in Connecticut for the 2008 presidential candidates. The rumor this election is that the youth vote will dominate the polls however, if my memory serves me correctly they said the same this last election between Bush and Kerry.
If any of you are still unsure on who to vote for, or maybe you just haven't chosen a candidate yet, I would like to recommend a pretty cool website that I came across a few weeks ago. Its called Glassbooth. In a nutshell, you log onto this website and answer a bunch of questions about what issues are most important to you. You don't have to register or sign up for anything, just log on and start clicking. When you are finished it analyzes your responses and then compares your views to the current presidential candidates. Even if you have your mind made up about who you are going to vote for, I still think that you should check this site out because if nothing else, its fun and it dost take much time to do. For Example, I am an avid Ron Paul Supporter and after filling in my answers, Glassbooth says my views related more to Hillary Clinton. This is not going to change my vote however, it was still very intriguing to see how I compared to all of the candidates.
I Hope everyone who is eligible to vote this year does so and exercises their rights. I wish good luck to all of the candidates and their supporters.

Superbowl Sunday!
And here is a post that has absolutely nothing to do with the Superbowl...
In class we discussed that one of the defining aspects of new media is being interactive. Dicionary.com defines the word interactive as "of or pertaining to a two-way system of electronic communications, as by means of television or computer". Now of course we know that televisions and computers only brush the surface of available interactive outlets. As an example I would like to introduce you to a group of graffiti artists who call themselves "Dotmasters". With a style best described as "Urban Neo-Classical Art" the Dotmasters use a unique stenciling technique to paint renditions of classical artworks on the walls of public buildings and art galleries. The debate whether or not they are performing blatant acts of vandalism is in the eye of the beholder, however the Dotmaster's argument is that "it's for the public to see not to be locked away in some box".
The Dotmasters have painted pictures where everyone can walk up and take a look at. The viewers may not realize it, but they are decoding a message by looking at the painting.
So how does this have anything to do with being interactive?
I saved the best part for last. After the Dotmasters finish a painting, the adhere a paper plaque next to containing instructions and a secret code. The instructions tell you how to SMS the code to the artists which will allow you to purchase an actual copy of the artwork. The first person to send them the code will get the piece at cost price, from there it will double in price for the next person who sends in the code, and triple for the third, and so on.
As a fan of Banksy and other street artists, I think that this is a fun and innovative concept as well as a way for the general public to get their hands on some interesting artwork.

The Listening Project
We all have our own views about The United States. I personally believe that it remains the land of the free and the home of the brave, but have you ever wondered what the rest of the world thinks of our country? The new film "The Listening Project" follows four average Americans as they travel through 14 countries and interview the local citizens concerning their views of America. All of the people working on the project have their own views about our country and throughout the film are forced to put their personal opinions aside as they listen to people's views toward the USA. Some of the countries visited are Japan, South Africa, and France and contrary to popular belief, not everyone's opinion of us is negative. I think that this film is a great opportunity for viewers to catch a glimpse into the eyes of the rest of the world.
